Can I use my American Express Platinum Edge Credit Card to access the Amex Lounges at Sydney an Melbourne Airports?

Hi Barbra,

Thank you for getting in touch with Finder.

The American Express Lounge is open to select American Express cardholders, including some bank-issued Amex cards. On this page, it only indicates that your card has the complimentary travel insurance but not the airport lounge pass. You may want to check on some information about the American Express Lounge in Sydney.

I hope this helps.

Have a great day!

Cheers,

Jeni

Hi,

I came to this page from the Exclusive Offers page https://www.finder.com.au/exclusive-offers that says ‘50,000 Rewards points Plus a $200 travel credit each year’, however, I can’t find any indication of the 50,000 Rewards points on this page. I don’t see it in the Amex website as well after clicking through ‘Go to American Express’ website’. Is the offer still valid?

Thanks,

Krishnan

What is the minimum spend for complimentary Virgin Australia domestic return flight – Platinum Edge Credit Card

Hi Norm,

Thank you for your inquiry.

To be eligible for the travel insurance, you must book the full fare for a return trip on your American Express credit card or by using reward points earned through the card like AMEX Membership Rewards or Qantas Frequent Flyer points.

On some other cards like the AMEX Platinum charge card, you can also claim insurance if you have booked a trip using other rewards points, as long as you pay for taxes and other additional fees using your AMEX card.

Please feel free to read our review about AMEX complimentary travel insurance to further check the other eligibility requirements of this product.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

May

Hi Allan,

Thank you for your inquiry. Just to confirm though that you’ve come through to finder.com.au we are an Australian financial comparison website and general information service, not actually AMEX nor ACE Insurance.

Under the AMEX Platinum Edge Card complimentary travel insurance T&Cs, the international travel insurance cover includes “Medical Emergency Expenses Cover” for repatriation/evacuation, cost of overseas treatment, emergency dental treatment and reasonable extra accommodation costs in the event of a Medical Emergency. However, this excludes “Pre-Existing Medical Conditions.”

I’ve sent you an email with the link to the AMEX Platinum Edge Card complimentary travel insurance T&Cs for your reference.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

May
