Retired for a number of years & receive an annual fully indexed State Govt pension as well as a part Centrelink pension. My wife also enjoys the same Centrelink pension. We have bank funds, a fully unencumbered home with no liabilities . I have a Mastercard in my name on which my wife (signatory) uses frequently. Because of my age (mid 80’s) think it necessary to obtain a credit card in her name solely, as in the event of my death my Mastercard will be frozen/stopped which will necessitate unnecessary problems/delays. Any suggestions??

Is this the best card for a senior

Hi Cecilia,

There isn’t a single best credit card for seniors because everyone has different circumstances. But features such as low rates, low or $0 annual fees and low credit limits may make it easier to manage a card and avoid high costs or debt. If you want to compare a wider range of cards, Finder has a guide to credit cards for retirees that may be useful. You could also contact Credit Union SA if you have questions about this particular card. I hope this helps.
