Finder's best no annual fee credit card offers for January 2024
Updated 2 January 2024 by Finder's senior credit card writer, Amy Bradney-George.
Millions of Australians have made New Year's resolutions around money, with Finder research showing the top goals are saving more money (54%), spending less money (34%) and reducing expenses (21%). If you have a credit card or want one, considering a no annual fee option is one way to save on expenses. With some cards charging annual fees of $300 or more, this could save you hundreds of dollars on account costs. And sometimes you'll get other perks such as rewards or interest-free offers.
Here's our pick of cards available through Finder:
- $0 annual fee rewards card:
The Coles No Annual Fee Mastercard has an ongoing $0 annual fee and offers 20,000 bonus Flybuys points (worth $100 Flybuys Dollars) when you apply by 29 February 2024. It also offers 0% interest on purchases for the first 6 months. One of the few cards on the market offering rewards and no annual fee. - No annual fee and 0% balance transfer exclusive offer:
The Kogan Money Credit Card has an ongoing $0 annual fee and offers 0% p.a. interest on balance transfers for 18 months with a 1% balance transfer fee. Unlike some cards, you can transfer debt from personal loans and lines of credit from other financial institutions. - No annual fee and frequent flyer points:
The Qantas American Express Discovery Credit Card offers no annual fee for life and earns between 0.5 and 1.75 Qantas Points per $1 on eligible spending. It's one of the few credit cards on the market that gives you a way to earn frequent flyer points without paying an annual fee.
Keep in mind: There's no one best credit card for everyone, so check details that matter to you.
Hi there
I currently have a personal loan with another bank.
Im interested in finding out my options if i switched over the balance to a personal loan or credit card with you.
The things that interest me are:
Low interest rate for the first year or 2
Low or no annual fee
An offer to be rewarded with frequent flyer points or something similar
cheers
Hi Brendan,
Thanks for your inquiry.
There are a few credit card providers that allow transferring a personal loan balance to a credit card. The comparison table provided will allow you to compare credit cards based on interest rates, annual fees and frequent flyer points earnings. You can press the “Go to Site” button of your preferred credit card to proceed with your application. You can also contact the provider if you have specific questions. A gentle reminder, please ensure to read through the relevant product disclosure statement and terms and conditions to ensure that you got everything covered before you apply.
Cheers,
Jonathan
What is the best card
How come one card has an interest rate of 9.9 and others are from 15 and up. We are looking to change our credit card and as we travel a lot we want a card that is able to be used anywhere in the world.
Hi Joyce,
Thanks for your inquiry!
Credit providers provide varying interest rates. You may like to compare travel credit cards which provide worldwide access and 0% foreign currency conversion fees.

Jonathan
Hi Charmaine,
Thank you for your question.
As a financial comparison service, however, we’re unable to recommend any specific product, service or strategy to our users as the ‘best’ option will always depend on the individual’s financial situation and needs.
I would recommend you compare different credit cards based on the offer provided and fees involved in conjunction with your financial situations and eligibility requirements.
I hope this has helped.

Hello,
I have a question regarding American Express Platinum Edge card.
on this website it is mentioned that “No annual fee for the first year, a 10,000 bonus points offer and a complimentary return domestic flight every year” but on the american express card website there is no mention of annual fee getting waived off for the first year. Can you please confirm if the annual fee is waived off or not for the first year ?
I require an auxiliary credit card to my primary card to use for online purchasing ( for event tickets etc). I require a ‘No Fee for Life’ credit card and only require a low credit limit (to $2,000 max)with monthly balance paid in full within one week of receipt of monthly statement . Do I need to have an account with the issuing bank (HSBC, BoQ, etc) to obtain a Credit Card. Could someone advise my best option.
Hi Ray,
Thank you for your question.
