Fact-checked

Our guides are written and reviewed by expert authors and checked by our editors to ensure we're providing clear information.

Our team of experienced writers and editors thoroughly research and review their work to create guides and articles designed to help you make better, more informed decisions. This includes searching for reputable and recent sources; checking and updating facts and figures on a regular basis; and breaking down complex topics into language that is easier to understand.

We have an internal product team that works to fact-check relevant rates and product information, and a sub-editing process to ensure clarity and accuracy. Our data and insights team also works closely with our editorial team, with a goal of ensuring the data, trends and insights we share are as up to date as possible.

While we make every effort to ensure that our information is accurate, we strongly encourage you to read the fine print on any product, brand or service that you're interested in before making a decision.

How do we make money?

At Finder, we're committed to providing you with free, current and accurate information to help you make better decisions. Making that happen involves the work of hundreds of staff members and the use of complex technology. To do that we rely on the support of our readers and our commercial partners to help us meet the costs of delivering our services to you.

As a business, we make money in a number of ways:

Referral fees

When you click on a link on Finder that leads to a third-party website that we have a commercial arrangement with (such as a store or financial institution), or if you fill out a form on our site to arrange a call with a partner (such as a mortgage broker or health insurer), we may earn referral fees.

While we do have commercial arrangements with some providers, this doesn't mean that we always receive compensation every time you click on a link or apply for a product or service. In some instances, we only receive a payment if you decide to buy or obtain a product or service. Either way, this payment comes out of the provider's pocket, and our service is 100% free for you.

Our commercial partners may feature more prominently in our lists of products or services. However, these commercial arrangements don't affect how we review or share our opinion about these services. We'll be upfront about what we like and what we don't like. Straight up? This means that we'll never tell you that a product or a provider is great if it isn't.

Sponsorship/promotional advertising fees

Partners may also pay us to advertise their products more prominently. Such products are marked as "Sponsored", "Promoted" or "Advertisement". Sponsorship fees may be in addition to referral fees. Promoted or sponsored products are not recommendations that the product is appropriate for you, and are not an indication that the product is the best match in its category.

Display advertising

This is when partners buy banners or other advertising on our site, such as in our email newsletters or on our social media channels. Like many publishers, we use display advertising to help cover our costs, and we always make sure that advertisements are clearly distinguished from our editorial content.

Content sponsorship

Sometimes a partner will sponsor an article series, social media posts or videos. We'll always clearly disclose this with a "sponsored by" or "presented by" message. We won't let sponsors influence our content or any reviews of products associated with them.
